35. Three things the righteous mustn’t do!

1. Do not live by sight: ‘Since we have been justified (declared or made righteous) through faith – (Romans 5:1), God expects that the ‘righteous will live by faith’ – (Habbakuk 2:3,4 / Hebrews 10:38 /) for ‘in the Gospel a righteouness from God is revealed, a righteouness that is by faith from first to the last’ -(Romans 1:17) or to the very end. Therefore, ‘we live by faith, not by sight – (2 Corinthians 5:7) because ‘if anyone shrinks back, God will not be pleased with him.’ – (Hebrews 10:38)

2. Do not condemn those whom God justified: Since ‘anyone in Christ, is a new creation’ – (2 Corinthians 5:17), we must not condemn other believers. ‘Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns?’ – (Romans 8:33-34) David refused to lift his hand against Saul, saying, “He is the anointed of the Lord” – (1 Samuel 24:6) ‘Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.’ – (Romans 14:4)

3. Do not commit sin: Since God has declared us righteous to do what is right, we must not commit sin. ‘You know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him … No one who is born of God will continue to sin because God’s seed remains in him …’ – (1 John 2:29 -3:10) However, ‘if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin … then none of the righteous things he has done will be remembered. Because of the sins he has committed, he will die.’ – (Ezekiel 18:24)

“Let him who does right continue to do right and let him who is holy continue to be holy” because the time is near – (Revelation 22:11) Amen.
